Welcome to the Greenest School on Earth

Green School in Bali, Indonesia is giving its students a natural, holistic and student-centered education in one of the most amazing environments on the planet.

The U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools awarded Green School the “2012 Greenest School on Earth“. This was an affirmation of the program we provide to enrich and nurture our students.

We invite you to explore our site and find out more about our school, our campus and our mission – you can sign up to book a tour of the school, leave your feedback in the comments section of any article or blog post and learn how you can contribute to the school, Bali and our beautiful Earth.

From the Head of School

john-stewartHistory of Green School

As Head of School, I have listened to so many people and their heartfelt viewpoints. All are expressive. A school develops a history – and the Board has determined after six years to share with all families an historical perspective, gleaned from interviews. This was not written by me – but it is shared to celebrate with great humility all that has been committed. As with all histories, there is a length but I do hope you find a quiet place, a restful time, to sit and digest the achievements of those who have given so much to generate the “greenest school on earth”. Michael Franti Visits Green School

“For anybody that’s considering sending your kid to school here, it’s different than other schools where your kid’s going to be assigned a number and a desk and you show up and you do exactly what you’re told. Here if you have an idea to do something that’s outside of the box, that idea is going to be fostered and nurtured rather than pushed down. I highly recommend coming here as a visitor, if you’re just visiting Bali; and if you’re a student, it’s a great place to be.” – Michael Franti, poet, musician, and activist, Hear what Michael has to say about Green School
