Organisations that are taking real steps forward to innovate and deliver transformational educational initiatives, bringing education into the 21st Century.<\/p>\n<p>In early December 2017, Green School was honored to receive four awards at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reimagine-education.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reimagine Education Conference and Awards<\/a> in Philadelphia, USA. The Reimagine Education Conference focuses on innovation in higher education in a number of categories. Green School was the only school in attendance\u00a0representing Pre K-12 education.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bnmag.www.greenschool.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_3437-2-e1513738729561.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1685\" src=\"http:\/\/bnmag.www.greenschool.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_3437-2-e1513738729561.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3437 (2)\" width=\"1080\" height=\"636\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe were honored to be a part of this conference, which focuses on innovation in higher education in a number of categories. Green School was among a very few organizations in attendance focusing on Pre K-12 education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glenn Chickering, <strong>Green School Head of Upper School<\/strong>, who represented the school to receive the awards in Philadelphia, USA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsbiobus.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bio Bus<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Green School\u2019s sustainable transportation that runs on used cooking oil won the <strong>Gold Awards<\/strong>, a $5,000 credit for Amazon web services and a beautiful trophy. This award will support Bio Bus to expand its mission to provide sustainable transport services to Green School students and staff, engage with the broader community by offering solutions to health and waste problems around used cooking oil (UCO), and deliver real world, integrated learning to the youth.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bio Bus - A Sustainable Transport for the Community\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N8hF873HZEM?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Green School\u2019s sustainable energy project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenschool.org\/support-us\/operation-rain-or-shine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Operation Rain Or Shine<\/strong><\/a>, which was funded with the ZAYED Future Energy Prize of US$ 100,000, won the <strong>Bronze Award<\/strong>. The ambitious, student-centered renewable energy project represents integrated and purposeful learning at its best. Applying systems thinking, scientific inquiry, analysis, design, physical challenge, team-work, communication and more, Operation Rain or Shine is a showcase to the world of renewable energy and student Green Leadership.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Green School&#039;s Operation Rain or Shine\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M17aubMyOPM?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Green School also won the <strong>Bronze Award<\/strong> for the <strong>overall K-12 education<\/strong>. Green School is delighted to be recognized for\u00a0its unique educational model, where students connect with nature and with communities, develop holistically with skills and competencies for the world of today and the future, learn entrepreneurial approaches to problem-solving and to apply the learning to make a real difference, now.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, an additional <strong>Bronze Award<\/strong> was given to Green School for the <strong>overall Asia Pacific Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFrom the jungle of Bali, we are delighted to have been recognized through these awards, especially for initiatives which have come to life through the support of many people. These additions to Green School\u2019s collection of awards reinforce our school leading the path towards the 21st-century education. Being only nine years old, Green School is beyond thrilled to be recognized among plenty of big names, such as Harvard.
