MEMORIES YOU SHARED
“I still remember the magic of the first school assembly at the Sangkep. The energy, the excitement. We were all so happy to be there!” Rachael Trainor – 2017
“Green School is a community at its best! The engaged beach clean ups and feeling of togetherness. The Mepantigan where we threw off all our inhibitions and dared to just jump into the mud! And the Sangkep with all the intergenerational creative assemblies and performances. For us, Green School represented freedom and peace and where everything is possible. It gave us such a wide picture of what life is all about” Nicole Ganzert – 2014
“On orientation day, my Grade 2 son needed to use the toilet. I watched him entering the first toilet, then the 2nd, then the 3rd and then he went back to the first one. He had obviously no idea how to use the Eco toilets” Andrea Wieser – 2020
“A life-changing experience. We loved it and dream about coming back” Rina Daniel – 2017

“GreenSchool has transformed our lives. Although we’ve been to the school for just one year, the way it has impact our lives was immense” Beatriz Dale – 2018
“We miss it all, the space, the connections, the team and a truly unforgettable experience we can only hope to have another go at it. Stay small!” Justin Chong – 2014
“I remember when the Middle School did The Medieval Banquet in t7he Alhambra Palace – across the curriculum. Ultimately students and faculty became the guests at the banquet – from across the eastern hemisphere – historic persons of that period (711-1492). Someone came as Rumi, someone was Queen Zubaida from Baghdad, and there was Lady Murasaki from Japan. Son, Seth came as Mansa Musa from Timbuktu in Mali, and I was Fatima of Cordoba – a librarian who scoured books markets in Cairo, Damascus, Samarkand sending back books along the Silk Road, to Cordoba’s 70 public libraries! We all traveled there (to Cordoba) – via the Silk Road or the Indian Ocean, or the trans-African routes, arriving at the Alhambra Palace for this great meeting of the minds, musicians, storytellers. . . .all were there. Were you?” Audrey Shabbat – 2021
“When we arrived in GS Simón was 6. One day we were speaking about which products contained palm oil and Simón said “Palm oil is free in GS” because at the time there were signs around the kitchen that said PALM OIL FREE!” Lisi – still at Green School
“We joined the Green School community in 2018. Our Grade 4 daughter had a broken leg and we wondered how on earth she was going to survive in a jungle campus. A few months later, she was creating giant pumpkin outfits out of bamboo chicken baskets for the Halloween assembly…making a raincoat out of recycled plastic bags…while I was learning how to harvest rice with local farmers through the Kul Kul Connection. These experiences will stay with us always” Sandra Randice – 2020
“Our time at Green School was one of the most special times of our lives. For 5 years we were part of a magical community with amazing teachers, parents and children. Green School changed our lives and how we saw the world, and the connections we made there are still a huge part of our lives.” Heidi Coglon – 2019
“Kenia always says grade 2 at Green School was her best year ever!” Rachael Gerbic – 2020
“There are so many memories from our many years at GS – but most of all is just the sense of community which was extraordinary. A bunch of people all trying to figure it out in the early days through to a well-run and amazing school that provided an incredible foundation for my girls. Thank you!” Nikki Macfarlane – 2020
