Heleen McMullan – PreK
Born and raised in The Netherlands, Heleen learned early on that she loved to travel and learn about different cultures. After completing her studies in Tourism Management, she moved to London and went on to work in the airline industry where she was able to follow her dream of exploring the world. Through this passion, she met her husband Conor and decided to move to Vancouver, Canada. Following the birth of her 2 sons, Heleen was drawn to early childhood learning and education. This led to her decision to go back to school to study Early Childhood Education in Vancouver. She quickly recognized that student-centred, play-based, and exploratory styles of learning best matched her views on how children learn best. She has been fortunate to gain much of her experience in a leading High Scope Pre-School. This has helped to shape her views on children’s learning in the early years while appreciating the critical role that passionate, caring and supportive teachers can play during these formative years. Always happiest outside, Heleen enjoys many sports including skiing, diving, running, and her latest pursuit, Balinese mountain biking. She feels fortunate to be part of the Green School community and is looking forward to many adventures both in and outside of the classroom during her time in Bali. heleen@greenschool.org
Suci Ratri Wardhani - Lead Class Teacher of PreK Prep
I graduated from English Department of Indonesia Christian University Jakarta. After graduated from College I worked as a Volunteer in KurniaAsihFondation, an International NGO, worked as a Volunteer Teacher to teach how to read & write for unfortunate children in Bogor, West Java. Continued to become Volunteer in Aceh after tsunami hit in 2003. There I worked as a Volunteer Counselor for children of Aceh. In 2004, I taught as a homeroom teacher for Primary in MawarSaron School Jakarta. Continued to teach as a toddler teacher in Cambridge School Jakarta. In 2008, I worked as a Principal for Early Childhood in Mutiarabangsa 2 School Jakarta. The latest work I’ve done is working with Education Ministry (Diknas) in Surabaya to set up the requirements of School Supervision. suci.ratri@greenschool.org
Russlee Panepinto - Assistant Class Teacher of PreK Prep
Russlee is the International Teacher in the Pre-K Prep class. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communications, with a double major in Psychology and Advertising from the University of Miami. She has been working with children for the past fourteen years, having taught swimming, yoga, English, and art (private and group lessons). Russlee was the head coach for a children’s swim team with over 150 members. She was an English instructor to both children and adults in Fukuoka, Japan where she also ran a children’s English school. Russlee is a certified yoga instructor from the Bihar School of Yoga in India and has taught adult and children’s classes. She has also worked with children in San Francisco, as a nanny as well as in a kindergarten and preschool. She started working at Green School in January 2011. Russlee is delighted to have the pleasure of spending her days with the youngest children on campus. Their constant wonder and energy is always inspiring. russlee@greenschool.org
