When we talk about curriculum at Green School, we mean the ingredients: what is taught, the way it is taught, the environment in which it is taught, and what is hidden behind it. All in a container which is ‘learning by doing’.
In designing the content of the curriculum specifically for Green School, we have chosen to blend the basic essential subjects in which students will need to have academic qualifications, with the best of Green Studies – in a hands-on, mud-between-your-toes progression from nature studies to ecological studies to environment studies to sustainability studies – and creative arts.
The methodology of teaching is driven by inspiring and motivating students to learn. Our international and multi-cultural enrolment means that students come together to form classes in school with all kinds of backgrounds to share and stories to tell.
Our teaching and learning environment is at one with nature. We maintain a low carbon footprint, and develop green habits at a young age so that our students will mature as stewards of the environment, passionate about sustainability.
What lies behind the curriculum is all about social sustainability – the values that we inculcate to encourage honesty, responsibility, care and compassion.
This curriculum, combined with the strength of our teaching team and with help from our amazing campus gives us confidence that we can deliver our mission.
