Football Crazy

We’re a little football-crazy right now at Green School and as a result we’ve been concentrating pretty heavy on football skills and conditioning for the upper grades. For grades 1 and 2 we have been concentrating on social skills games, agilities and tag games. The rest of the semester will see introductions to volleyball with work on hitting, striking for the upper grades and catching and throwing for the younger students... {readmore}

An English Lesson at the Green School

In the third week of school, between periods, a seventh grade student tied me up with a string of questions. He wanted me to explain the purpose of English class. Why is there a lot of time devoted to studying the English language when most of his classes are taught in English?Is the purpose of English class to learn grammar? Write a good essay? The first three weeks of the new academic year have been extremely smooth, busy and exciting. On the opening day we welcomed many new families to Green School and we wished them all a happy and successful year ahead. In addition, we welcomed a number of new and returning teachers. We are so fortunate to have such a highly skilled and qualified teaching staff that has the expertise to bring the very best out of every student.
