Career Opportunities at Green School

Opening in September, 2008, Green School in Bali, Indonesia is an independent school for Preschool through Year 8. Our initial enrollment of 100 students will grow to 300 and within four years we will have a fully accredited International Baccalaureate program through High School. Our school is unique because our student body is composed of children from over 15 foreign countries as well local Balinese children on financial aid.



Business Manager (Full time)
Job Description and How to Apply for this Position:

The Business Manager will report directly to Green School's founders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and manage cash flows, business plans, and budgets through multiple-year projections
  • Analyze best and worst case income scenarios
  • ROI/IRR analysis, taking land investment and capital building expenses into account
  • Manage tuition and scholarship funds
  • Manage salaries, insurance, HR packages, and legal needs
  • Will manage and supervise several employees.
  • Analyze micro-business scenarios that are in line with the school’s unique vision
  • Communicate frequently, effectively and efficiently to the Board of Directors.

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • An advanced degree, preferably in business administration, with a strong statistical background
  • Experience in cost accounting with very strong MS Excel skills
  • Management experience, particularly in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Comfortable on work sites
  • A talent for acquiring new languages, and fluency in or adequate grasp of Bahasa Indonesia is a major plus
  • Excellent inter-personal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and keen to demonstrate leadership, responsibility and creativity in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

    Lead Year 5 - 6 Teacher
    We are seeking talented and dedicated Lead Year 5 - 6 Teacher for the 2008-2009 school year. The teacher should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the classroom. Educators with Steiner/Waldorf or International Baccalaureate experience are encouraged to apply.

    Head of Development

    Purpose of Job
    The Development Director is responsible for raising in excess of $2 million from multinational corporations active in South East Asia, foundations and major individual donors who share our mission.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops and submits grant proposals to corporate and private foundations
  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits individuals for major gifts
  • Organizes and produces a major annual fundraising event on campus
  • Organizes and produces several smaller fundraising events
  • Assists with the creation and production of major gifts/campaign communication (web and printed)
  • Recruits and works with Volunteers to meet fundraising goals

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5 years experience in area of educational (preferred) advancement work – specifically in corporate and private foundation giving
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia helpful but not required
  • Experience working in Asia preferred
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and work well in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel as required
