  6. Congratulations, Mr. John Hardy! Your Green School truly is a model school for the future. I would really like to learn more about your school, philosophy, mission, and curriculum. This would be a great school to bring into the Philippines as well. I am currently about to work on a thesis for my masters in Early Childhood Education and your ideas have fascinated me. Your Green School is very inspiring. Perhaps I can direct my thesis in this direction. I would love to volunteer and learn more about your Green School.

  7. Thank you this talk and video was very inspiring and beautiful. a dream for children. A flourishing community at school. Something quite different from how I grew up. We just had no idea!

  13. Put me on your first 50+ worldwide Green School building list already, John! I have been teaching Computer Animation (3D, Claymation, Legomation, and Toymation) and developing Programming and Robotics programs for K-10 students since 2005. I hope by bringing in *KAS programs to your school will add a bit more “holistic” touch to your Green School revolution. (*Kids Animation School- A nonprofit online afterschool in Washington state, USA)
I, as well as so many other followers and parents who have responded to your calling in TED’s talk, am too very much inspired by you and start making plans: wrapping up my teaching commitments, packing my outreach programs and teaching studio, to relocate to Bali… (Well, I hope you’re not overwhelmed! : ). Look forward to hearing from you soon!

  14. When I got this link shared with me the fourth time in two days, I knew I needed to see it. You point the way forward for many.

As a recent graduate in Architecture, i find what is being done here to be totally exemplary, and a model that should be rolled out across the world.

As part of my compulsory year in industry before going back to complete my course and becoming fully qualified i’ve had to work in practice, but have had little hands on experience to do with construction or for that matter, seeing how the things i’ve learnt as an Architecture student, properly affect the way people live.
Come July 2011, I will be driving from England to Mongolia for charity, as part of the Mongol Rally, (i know, not the greenest of adventures) getting there in about mid September.

So, from September onwards, i would love to be involved with any new construction projects that you’re undertaking, and as you said at the end of your wonderful presentation, i am most certainly interested in helping out, so here is me getting in touch.

I hope very much to hear from you soon

Regards, and congratulations on all you’ve achieved already!

Mr. Hardy, I applaud your efforts, and will promote your ideas as much as possible starting with emulating for our school’s website this great design. Our family is living in Mexico, and we could use a lot more green school ideas. It starts with inspiration which you’ve provided, and with one conversation a time to get people motivated. I hope to have more than a few of those this week, and hopefully, a visit to your school some time in the next few years.

    Many Thanks,

My education as an architect was interrupted last year by the arrival of my son. I found myself suddenly connected to the next generation and seeing all sorts of ways that the world we’ve created here (Canada for me) is not how I want my child to live.
Lately I’ve been getting my hands dirty experimenting with alternative building here on the west coast, while at the same time trying to plan how to keep my son out of the public school system … Why did I never think to put the two together?? It’s a complete revelation to me – and a double motivation: good for the earth, good for my children.
Thank you for the inspiration, John and Cynthia Hardy. Now let’s get to work.

It is a good start to be a pioneer of green school project.
I seems impossible to force all over the world to do the same thing, but we still have hope and good opportunities for those who have the same idea to do so.
Green school means that we save the world from devastation! Hopefully, many parties are interested to do the same project in more and more cities or countries!

    hello fellow future believers

please let there be a future. the world needs to stop what they are doing, stand up, turn around and see what they are leaving. we are not leaving enough. the world knows not how short we have on this earth because we have not been teaching our children the truth. you are teaching our children once again (blount). please find a future in those children and please be careful, their future is in your hands.

we need to leave more than we take
then the future will never end

I’m very interested to learn technique to build with bamboo. Do you organize courses about it?
I’m a 49 years old italian man; I like to travel and among all of my hobbies there is construction with natural materials (mostly straw bales and clay). It could be a good “excuse” to visit your island and, of course, your school as well.

waiting for your reply I send you warm greetings from my country

  28. imelda siregar

Amazing! It’s really inspired me to introduce more about green life and enviroment to our children and community … thanks alot.

  29. I would very much like to teach/learn there.

we are building a green school. i would love to come see this school at bali. i will plan to do this in the next fortnight to month. could i get in touch with the architects and the designers and get some ideas for our school in outback australia.

i have a architectural permaculture back ground so i am very interested in meeting the makers of this green future.

    regards Karolina

    very good

  32. I believe what you published was actually very logical.
However, what about this? suppose you added a little content?
I am not suggesting your information is not good., but suppose you added a
title that makes people desire more? I mean Founder John Hardy’s TED lecture goes live! | Green School is kinda boring. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page and
note how they write news headlines to get people to click.
You might add a video or a pic or two to grab readers interested about what you’ve written. In my opinion, it would make your posts a little livelier.

  33. I love all your small conferences and the subjects you touch, they are vital for our future generations.Thank you.

  34. Beautifull school. Permaculture is the only way to go.
    Succes, greetings from Denmark, Hans

This is, indeed, motivational. I have inquired about a position as an ESL or English teacher in your school, Having been in a Canadian International School here in China for the past six years, teaching children from approximately 30 countries, I have a wealth of experience working with a diverse range of students. This is in addition to my thirty-two years of teaching and administrative experience in Canada.
As an educator, I have also had experience teaching teachers and have also given classes to parents. I have had articles published in national and local journals and weeklies. Here, in China, I have co-authored a book on working in ESL titled, “English Second Language Instruction: Making it Painless”
I would love to have the opportunity to work in your school.
Thank you for making this presentation available.

  36. This is truly an inspiration as well as a masterpiece.
Lets get our world thinking like this. …and visit!!

  37. I was captivated by John Hardy’s explanation of the awe-inspiring Green School!

This is a school that aligns with my values & ideas and incorporates them into the classroom. I hope to one day visit this school, learn from their community, and hopefully pass on my knowledge in return.

  39. Dear John, My name is Herbert, I live in San Diego California. I just found out about your school, and saw a write up on the Colombian magazine Avianca. I own and operate a very prestigious preschool in San Diego California, and head the board of the number one business school in Latin America. My intention is not to brag, since nigther of them have been built by me. But as life will have it today I lead these very different groups of people. After my father passed away 6 months ago, I proposed to our University EAN of Colombia South America, to continue his legacy of mentoring entrepreneurs for 46 years, and to add a simple word to our mission, witch is “Sustainable”. Since that day, the board of the school agreed to adopt it as it’s institutional policy. On the other side of the world, my preschool enjoys a clientele exact opposite by all standards, Children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age, in one of the wealthiest communities of San Diego. The common denominator I find between them, is they all need a greener education, I am convinced that these next leaders need to clearly understand the connection between earth and life. I would like to be able to speak with you, to get some pointers on where to start. I would like to come visit you in Bali, I have not been there for at least 10 or 12 years and I find the island gorgeous. I would like to see if at all possible I can send my director for a few weeks to experience Green School, come back and help me implement, what I consider the biggest dream of my life. I would love to show you the little I have done with my family in San Diego to begin getting off the grid.
Please send me a phone number where I can contact you.
I truly hope you decide to join efforts with me and help me begin this journey for the benefit of the communities of the world.

It is very hard to convey all I have to share in this short letter, but I know we will have a chance to meet in person soon.
