Everyone I showed this film too back in the UK was suitably impressed. They really didn’t understand what I had said about the school until they watched this. One comment that came up with all the time was ” the children certainly look very happy!” I love the film but then as a Green School parent and a friend of Sven and Lena my opinion might be a bit biased. Some of my British friends were more of the British old school type.

It is very interesting school in the world, not only the building but also the curriculum, it is brave to change and to be different. I hope , it will be followed by department of education.

This is a wonderful presentation about an extraordinary school that provides the tools and experience to help create a culture that supports a sustainable future and lifestyle. As such, the students who finish the curriculum here will have the skills and experience necessary to go out into the world and become leaders and teachers to others and spread the ideas of true sustainability…. YEA!

    Dear Sir or Madame,

three weeks ago I sent an email concerning the possibility of volunteering in the Green School for a few months next year. If you did not receive the message, please let me know, so I will be able to send it again.
As the volunteering in your institution would be my preferred choice for spending the time between school and university I want to make sure whether there is a chance of doing some assisting work in your school and getting to know Bali, before I start applying for other social projects and volunteering abroad.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
    Yours faithfully,
    Linus Materna

I am currently studying to become a geography teacher in the UK and sustainable living is my greatest interest. I love the ethos of this green school. I would be interested to see how this could be transfered to the UK where many challenges are faced in maing our schools sustainable. Our buildings are already established and the costof redeveloping them and even creating new ones is difficult. Although our schools are aiming to become sustainable by 2020, it only appears to be the geography and science departments who are truely focusing the students and the school in this direction. It will take a dramtic change in the way our schools are run for us to make a difference.

  9. This film brought tears to my eyes. Knowing what the Green School is doing, and how and why, inspires and also fills my heart with longing. I’ve been an ecological educator for many years, but I’ve never seen or heard of a school so complete in its vision and execution. Bravo! May the seeds you plant spread far and wide.

    Helt underbart!
    Inspirerande och rörande.
Ser fram emot en möjlighet att komma dit och på något sätt bli bärare av ett frö från denna skola.
Lycka till med skapandet av gröna ledare.
Det är precis vad världen behöver!

  11. I always wondered whether green schools adapted themselves to the current educational system. Looking forward to read more about it..!!

  12. This school is amazing, and I love treehouses! It’s so heartwarming to know that when I have kids there will be, and already is, a modern yet environmentally-, and culturally-aware school I could send them to. I’m 25 and don’t plan on having kids for another 10 years, but by then I have no doubt that Green School will still be going strong.

  13. This clip is not working properly.

I saw your TED talk and was captivated. I would love to know more about your future projects and give a hand in their realisation.

    Cheers

  14. What a great way to live, I have a 5 year old son Jett and my wife is working on our second child. I would love for our kids to at least do a year or two at green school, Would Massage and/or Home Economics be something the school would be interested in providing. My wife Manchi is an amazing chef in Australia . originally from Manilla . if not do the mums and dads have any trouble finding work in Bali.
